We are a vibrant and engaged community where children and families are inspired to reach their full potential.
With faithful community partners, WeGo Together supports and enhances the health, safety, learning, and social-emotional well-being of children and families through a collaborative, coordinated, and comprehensive approach for the West Chicago community.
Collaboration
We work collectively to achieve our agreed-upon common goals.
Accountability
We are accountable to each other and the broader West Chicago community to ensure we uphold our agreed-upon responsibilities. If we cannot fulfill our responsibilities or the outcome is less than anticipated, we reflect on why things did not go as planned and clearly and openly convey that information.
Relationships
We actively prioritize and nurture strong relationships that are built upon trust and mutually reinforcing communication between partner organizations and the community.
Equity
We acknowledge that everyone has some degree of implicit bias and as such, we genuinely listen and use an equity lens in all decision-making to ensure people who are most impacted by systemic and institutionalized failure have a voice and perspective in decisions.
Shared responsibility
We value the multiple perspectives community partners and the community contribute to our common goals and ensure that stakeholders will give and receive input before final decisions are made, regardless of if the community partner is the lead.

All participants have a shared vision for change including a common understanding of the problem and a joint approach to solving it through agreed upon actions.

Collecting data and measuring results consistently across all participants ensures efforts remain aligned and participants hold each other accountable.
Mutually Reinforcing Activities
Participant activities must be differentiated while still being coordinated through a mutually reinforced plan of action.
Continuous Communication
Consistent and open communication is needed across the many players to build trust, assure mutual objectives, and appreciate common motivation.
Backbone Support
Creating and managing collective impact requires a separate organization with staff and specific sets of skills to serve as the back for the entire initiative and coordinate participating organizations and agencies.
