Eligible families can receive a free Energy Saving Kit with products designed to help reduce energy use at home. To apply, contact the DuPage County Department of Community Services and provide your utility account information to determine eligibility. If approved, the kit will be shipped directly to your home.

Families can get started by contacting the program by phone, email, website, or QR code. After completing a free home energy assessment, households receive personalized recommendations to help reduce energy use and lower utility costs. Eligible families may also receive free or discounted energy-saving products like thermostats, showerheads, power strips, door sweeps, and pipe insulation.

This program helps eligible households lower their monthly electric bills. Eligibility is based on household income (up to 300% of the Federal Poverty Level). Customers approved for LIHEAP are automatically enrolled, while others can apply through their local assistance agency or ComEd’s enrollment process. Once approved, families receive a monthly discount on their ComEd electric bill for up to 24 months.
