Veronica works as a Housing Navigator with WeGo Together for Kids, helping families in West Chicago who are struggling with housing or are at risk of losing their home. Her role is to support them through the process of finding housing, understanding their options, and connecting them with the help they need. She assists with apartment searches, filling out applications, and linking families to programs that offer financial support for rent, security deposits, or utility bills. If someone receives a 5-day notice or is facing eviction, she explains the steps they can take and helps them understand the process. She also connects families to financial fitness programs when they need help budgeting or working on their credit to qualify for housing.
“Housing is the foundation for everything—stability, health, education, and safety,” Veronica says. “My goal is to be part of the support system that helps families get through tough times and find stability.”
Veronica focuses on building trust and staying connected with families, so they feel supported—not alone. She also works with landlords and other community partners to make the process smoother for the families she serves. Watch her full interview below to learn more about her work!
