Hopeful Beginnings is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and families through some of life’s most emotional transitions. Their services include adoption support, prenatal and postpartum counseling, grief and pregnancy loss support, mental health services, and more—all provided with compassion and care.
Towards the end of the school year, Hopeful Beginnings partnered with Birth to Three to host a special event: Painting with Moms, a calm, creative space for moms to connect, reflect, and celebrate their journey.
Held as a closing celebration for Birth to Three’s- Mothers and Babies group, the event offered more than just art. Moms laughed, painted, and shared how much they’ve grown, personally and as mothers. Hopeful Beginnings set the mood with music and even held a diaper raffle for the participating mamas, adding extra joy and appreciation to the day.
One mom summed it up best when asked if she could do something like this at home: "There is no way" It was a powerful reminder of how valuable and needed these peaceful, supportive spaces truly are. Moms were also introduced to The Basics, five fun and simple ways to help young children thrive. Many were excited to learn more, and several signed up for the Basics Insights text messaging program, which delivers weekly tips straight to their phones.
District 33’s Birth to Three offers home visiting programing, dad groups, community field trips, referrals to other resources and more. All moms in West Chicago are welcome to participate in the Mothers and Babies group. It’s a space where moms can connect, build skills, and feel supported as they navigate motherhood
This collaboration gave local moms a moment to pause, celebrate their growth, and look ahead with confidence. We look forward to offering more experiences like this in the future.
